Mathieu Detiege
Mathieu Detiege is a seasoned basketball skill coach at Nova Hoops Antwerp, bringing over 10 years of experience from his time with the former Elite Academy Antwerp basketball club. Renowned for his expertise in shooting and basketball intelligence, Mathieu offers personalized 1-on-1 training sessions that help players elevate their game. Coming from a true basketball family, the sport is deeply ingrained in his life—if basketball were blood, it would run through his veins. Mathieu’s passion and knowledge make him a trusted mentor for aspiring athletes.
Janka Debacker
Janka Debacker is a former professional and youth national team player and experienced coach passionate about helping players grow on and off the court. She combines high-performance mindset training with a deep focus on fundamentals, team play, and personal development.

max ivens
Max Ivens is the owner of Go2theMax and specializes in strength and conditioning for (elite) athletes. For over four years, he has been helping athletes become physically stronger, more explosive, and injury-free, enabling them to perform at their best. Max serves as the performance coach for Kangoeroes Basketball Mechelen (First Division) and also supports the players of Nova Hoops Academy. With Nova, he works intensively on the physical development of young talent, preparing them for the highest level.

1-on-1 Skill Development
Work closely with a coach to improve specific aspects of your game: ball handling, shooting mechanics, finishing at the rim, defense, decision-making — you name it. Every drill is tailored to your playing style and progression level.
Small Group Training (2-6 Players)

Who is private coaching for?
Private coaching is for any player — beginner to advanced — who wants to improve faster. Whether you’re focused on skill development, confidence, fitness, or game IQ, our coaches tailor each session to your goals.
Do I need to be a Nova Hoops team player to book private coaching?
No. Private coaching is open to all players, whether you’re part of Nova Hoops or not. Everyone is welcome.
How long does a session last?
Most sessions are 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the type of training and your age group. We also offer custom programs for longer-term development.
What skills do you focus on during private sessions?
We cover a wide range of skills depending on your needs, including shooting, ball handling, footwork, finishing, defense, decision-making, and position-specific training (guards, wings, bigs).
Where do the sessions take place?
Sessions are held at our main training facility @ Griffinstraat 11, 2170 Merksem. We’ll confirm the location when you book.
